Guideline ACT Pty Ltd has implemented an integrated Business Management System that has policies for Quality, Environmental and OHS&R management.

Quality Policy:

Guideline ACT Pty Ltd is committed to a Quality System for all of its products, services and operations. The objective of this commitment is to:

  • Lower the cost and increase the benefits of our products to customers
  • Achieve customer satisfaction and confidence in our products
  • Satisfy the legitimate needs of the community with regard to the impact of construction projects, environmental issues and safety.

Guideline ACT will implement its policy and commitment by:

  • communicating this policy and procedures to all employees, subcontractors and other stakeholders by ensuring they are aware of their obligations with respect to our operations
  • providing products and services that meet or exceed the standards specified in our contracts and maintaining documentation to record this
  • embracing new ideas, technology and innovation and striving for continuous improvement
  • aiming to get it “right first time” and reducing the need for rework
  • reviewing this policy and our procedures regularly to maintain their relevance

Improvements in quality will flow on to customers as more cost effective solutions to their needs. Less rework will increase employee satisfaction and motivation and lead to company growth.

Guideline ACT management and staff are committed to the implementation and continual improvement of the effectiveness of the Quality system. It is the responsibility of the managing director through supervisory staff, and in turn of all employees, to ensure the achievement of quality in a planned and documented manner.

The Guideline ACT Quality System is designed to satisfy the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008, ACT Public Works and RTA and can be modified to suit individual client needs.

Environmental Policy:

Guideline ACT Pty Ltd is committed to planning, carrying out and monitoring its operations in order to:

  • comply with relevant EPU regulations, any local council development application consent conditions and any additional customer requirements relating to the environment;
  • set environmental targets for each project site in an Environmental Control Checklist;
  • prevent pollution;
  • minimise the emission of noise, dust and polluted runoff from construction sites;
  • ensure the effects of its construction activities do not spread outside the nominated areas;
  • respond promptly to any emergency situation which could cause adverse environmental impacts; and
  • support the principles of Ecologically Sustainable Development.

Environmental compliance will be regularly reviewed. Guideline ACT aims to prevent problems from occurring and promote continuous improvement towards best practice in environmental management.

Appropriate training and instruction shall be provided to ensure that project staff understands how to implement the Environmental Management Plan. Staff are encouraged to offer suggestions about how environmental protection measures can be improved. Such suggestions will be assessed by Guideline management and implemented as appropriate.

Guideline ACT is open about its environmental policy and will make it available to relevant interested parties.

This environmental policy statement shall be made available to all staff and on request to other organisations and the general public.

The Guideline ACT Environmental Management System is designed to satisfy the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 14000 and can be modified to suit individual client needs.

Occupational Health Safety & Rehabilitation Policy:

It is the policy of Guideline ACT Pty Ltd that each employee shall be provided with a safe and healthy place in which to work. To achieve this policy, management will make every reasonable effort in the areas of accident and injury prevention, hazard removal and control.

Management and each employee have a personal obligation to ensure that their own safety and that of fellow workers through an absolute commitment to safe work practices.

Guideline ACT will implement its policy and commitment by:

  • communicating this policy and procedures to all employees, subcontractors and other stakeholders by ensuring they are aware of their obligations with respect to our operations and the requirements of the OHS&R Act
  • cultivating a safety awareness attitude amongst all employees and subcontractors and providing an avenue for feedback through regular OHS&R Committee meetings
  • putting in place safe work practices for all our activities and maintaining and upgrading our systems to continuously improve our operations
  • recording and investigating all incidents to prevent reoccurrence and providing rehabilitation for any injured employee to enable that employee to return to work as soon as possible
  • reviewing this policy and our procedures regularly to maintain their relevance
